Evidence Of Faith And Repentance

Luke 11:2: And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

If you are reading this, you and your life are in the earth. Thy will (instead of mine) be done, as in heaven, so in earth (in my life and the lives of others). We need to know and believe His will is better in every way than ours. We need to desire His will and live as if we know that His will is better than ours. The will and desires of our sinful flesh are what need to be repented of. They are the part of us that God changes when He makes us new creatures in Christ. If many would be truthful in praying about their own will and desires their prayer would go something like this: My will be done in Heaven, on earth and in my life.

If you have never had a heartfelt desire to be rid of your own will and have God*s will instead of your own, you have never received Jesus. That heartfelt desire is what motivates men to genuinely receive Jesus. It is called repentance. After we receive Jesus and have Him living in our hearts, that desire should grow more and more in our hearts AND in our lives. The best, most mature and most useful Christians have the most desire for God*s will over their own. When they are at their best they don*t even give a thought to their own will. Faith that does not include faith in God*s will is not faith in God at all.

Philippians 2:12 -13: Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
